Continuation.. Part ended -Ok take care, babes. Muuaahhh, bye

“Bye. Love you Karan.” They both disconnected the call.
God certainly knows how to get two hearts together. Karan and Reena also met through the God almighty.
After cutting the call, Karan saw Reena’s picture on his mobile and kissed it. He recalled how because of his mother, Reena came in his life. Karan and Reena’s marriage affair was completely arranged. They never knew each other at all, until one day Mrs. Heer Jaiswal’s eye got hooked on Reena in a boutique located at Mumbai where both were shopping where every note of Reena’s approach and attitude was taken to point. She liked her and so managed to click a snap of the pretty dame to show it to Mr. Kuldeep Jaiswal and Karan their son. After few days in a wedding ceremony of Mr. Surender Nair’s daughter, Karan and his family bumped into Reena. From there on they to get information about her family. Without wasting much time, Karan told his parents that he liked Reena a lot and wanted to get married to her as soon as possible. He just couldn’t wait and three months later in March 8th, 2012 they both exchanged the 1st bond of togetherness by getting engaged.
Karan had completely got engrossed in his thoughts. Mrs. Jaiswal voiced for him. She realized that he wasn’t responding and immediately went to his room. She then saw that Karan was looking at Reena’s picture. “Hmmm. So now mom and dad are out. Reena is in. No wonder I always think in which world you get your thoughts lost. Missing her beta?” While she was talking she gently hugged and caressed him on his head.
“Maa, she is the best. I love her. My life has changed with her stepping in. It’s all thanks to you.”
“Chal re nautanki” She giggled and “Come have food. Dad is waiting down for dinner.” They both then went down together.

Continuation..Part ended- “He is a hard working person and I respect him.” Rahul was telling Reena.

As kaaka made his way into his room, which is down the hall way he kept all his food first on the table. He has been working with the Sharma’s for last 20 years. Seeing Rahul grow and play before him, most of the time Rahul use to like being with kaaka in his room as he would sing lorries, say bedtime stories, read Ramayana, Mahabharat, stanza’s from the Bhagwad Gita and explain the meaning to Karan. From the time Rahul’s parents expired kaaka took care of him. He was 21, when his dad expired with a sudden heart attack. Seeing his death, Mrs. Sharma passed away on the same day with shock. But now with Namarata around, Rahul is back to life.
Every evening before kaaka starts his meal he lights the God’s lamps and looks up at his master’s photo. He prays;
“Sai, mujhe shakti de. Mein abharee hoon en logon ka jisne mujhe itna pyaar se rakha aur abhi bhi rak rahe hain. Enkae aatma ko shanti de bhagwan. Rahul aur Namarata ki zindagee khushiyoon se bharna. Mere khanna ka phela nivala mein apko deta hoon. Om Sai Ram” Saying this, he then started to eat.
Back, in the hallway, Reena and Rahul were relishing to glory the tasty cheese pav bhaji when suddenly he broke a conversation.
“So where you work?”
“I work for a graphic designing company Designs and More as their senior designer for last three years. What about you?” Just then Reena’s mobile rang and it was Karan’s call. She answered the call “Babes where have you been I have been trying your number since 1 hour. I hope you are fine!”
“Baby I am alright halted at a friend’s place. It’s raining heavily. So you home?”
“Yes darling I am home. Mom and dad were asking about you. How is aunty and uncle? Convey my regards to them”
“Everyone is fine. They are at Neeta chaachi’s house. Karan I will have to keep the call now. My mobile battery is low, just kept it for charging. Call you later.”
“Ok take care, babes. Muuaahhh, bye”

Contiuation.Part ended- "Who’s call was it Hetal?”Mr. Surjeet Singh asked

“It was Reena. She is at one of her friends’ place.”
“See simply you were getting worried. Now relax, tell Neeta and let’s have dinner. For the night we will have to stay back. It will be difficult to drive.”
Back in Rahul’s house, as dinner preparations were over, Reena asked Rahul if he required any help. “Reena thanks. You are my guest. So, be comfortable. By the way! Did you talk with your parents?”
“Yes. They were worried. I told them I am here.”
“That’s good. At least they will not be all that worried.” As he was chit chatting with Reena, Ramu kaaka and Rahul were laying the table when all of a sudden “Rahul can I borrow your Nokia charger. My mobile battery has drained off.”
“Sure. No problem.” Rahul took her mobile and kept in on for charging. Meanwhile after laying down the table Rahul addressed “Kaaka aap aaram se apne kamrae mein baetkar khaana khalo. Aap bhi thag gaye honge. Kaaka torch mat bhoolna. Ek maine rakha hai. Aap ek lekar jaao.” Meanwhile kaaka served for himself and took the torch. Before exiting he turned around “Beta, agar kuch chaheyae toh awaaz dena. Dahi maine bahar hee rakha hai.”
“Theek hai kaaka, chalo aap jaagar khalo” Kaaka then left the hall, and entered his room.
“He is a hard working person and I respect him.” Rahul was telling Reena.

Continuation. Part ended- Water was dripping from her silky hair on the floor.

She opened the door and walked down the stairs, the aroma of pav bhaji was tickling her senses. Water was dripping from her silky hair on the floor.
Upon reaching the hall way, she headed towards the kitchen “Pav bhaji. Yum” Saying this Rahul said yes and turned around seeing Reena. A sense of fire burning from within him; He was just looking at her; in the meanwhile, kaaka just shook him “Beta pav jal jayega.” Reena giggled.
“She is so pretty. But what’s wrong with me. Why suddenly am I getting this kind of sensation? I think I am gone mad.” He was thinking to himself.
“Rahul can I use your landline since need to call my parents. They must be worried as I had told them, I would reach home early.”
“Arey haan baba go; ahead formality kyoun. Call them.”
She then picked up the receiver and dialed her dad’s number. After 4 rings he answered the call. There was a lot of sound at the background and could hardly hear, then gave the mobile to his wife and she went away from the crowd to talk.
“Hello koun hai. Hello.”
“Mom, this is Reena.”
“Beta! tu kidar hai. We were all worried. I hope you are fine, and from where are you calling. Tu ghar nahin ponchee abhi tak?”
“Mom relax, I am at a friend’s house. Since it’s raining so heavily I couldn’t drive home hope you and dad are fine!”
“Beta we are fine and might also stay back at Neeta aunt’s house. You take care. Kuch kahaya”
“Will have now, you and dad also take care. Chalo bye tell dad I called.”
“Bye beta.”
They both kept the call. Mrs. Singh joined back everyone. Meanwhile “Who’s call was it Hetal?”Mr. Surjeet Singh asked.

Continuation. Part ended- Both kaaka and Rahul were enjoying themselves.

Meanwhile, at Neeta aunties’ house, everyone was having a gala time. Reena’s parents suddenly seemed a bit worried. Neeta on seeing her sister’s worried look approached her and asked her what the problem was. “Neeta Reena hasn’t called up yet. I hope she’s fine. Upar se it’s raining heavily. I am really worried.”
“Didi don’t worry. She will be fine. Our girl is not just any altu faltu girl. She must have got stuck. Wait did you try calling her mobile or office.” Just then “Jiju what’s her office and mobile number. Give me both.” As she was trying the numbers there was no response from any. Her mobile also was switched off. “Didi her mobile is switched off aur office mein koi nahin utha raha.”
“Neeta I hope she is fine. Surjeet I hope nothing has happened.”
“Don’t think anything. She will be fine, relax. Just wait.”
Mean while, at Rahul’s residence Reena finished changing and glanced at the clock. It was 7:10pm.
“I didn’t call mom and dad. They must be worried. I better call and tell them where I am.” Reena was telling herself.
She opened the door and walked down the stairs, the aroma of pav bhaji was tickling her senses. Water was dripping from her silky hair on the floor.

Continuation. Part ended- Hi honey crunch. How are you?

OMG! You sang a song for me. Baby it’s so sweet of you. I was just seeing our old snap and you called. Baby so fast a year has passed by. I am fine. How about you? It’s raining cats and dogs. How’s the climate in Delhi?” He was holding the frame in his hand and was talking with Namarata.
“Climate here is mad. Just today it rained. I can’t wait to get back. Hope you are having breakfast, lunch and dinner on time. How’s Ramu kaaka? Don’t trouble him too much. My work is almost done. I will have to make one more final trip. Chalo now I have to hang up the phone.”
“Ok honey. Talk to you later. But wait.”
“Haan I am on line still. Tell me.”
“Close your eyes and come a bit close. Muuuaaahhhhh. A soft kiss for your tender lips and I am hugging you tight. It’s been so long, missing the tenderness of your skin and your soft touch. Come soon babes. I can’t wait any longer.” Saying this she sighed over the phone. “I know honey, missing you too. I will be there tomorrow right next to you. Till then take care and don’t get naughty.” They both had a light laugh on their naughty talks. Then both bid good bye to each other and disconnected the call. It was already 6:45 pm and rains were pouring heavily. Meanwhile, from the kitchen the aroma of pav bhaji was tickling Rahul’s nose. “Kaaka, acchi kushboo aarahee hai. Thoda aur makan dalna, aur cheese dalna mat bhoolna badmein. Pav hai naa. Uspar bhi acchi tarah se; makan lagakar tavae par talna. Mein ek kaam karta hoon, aap bhaji pakao, mein pav talta hoon” Both kaaka and Rahul were enjoying themselves.

Continuation.. Part ended- The two seemed to have got along pretty well

“Reena you see that white Toyota parked, that’s my house.” Oh my God!! This is like a house I see in movies. The landscaped garden done up well with a small fountain bowl for the birds to drink and dip themselves in water during the sunny climate.
“Reena, is anything wrong?”
“Nothing you have a beautiful landscaped garden.” She smiled.
“Her smile will let anyone forget its worries.” Mann hee mann mein Rahul was thinking.
“Chalo let’s go inside.” They both got down the car. Reena got wet as she entered inside. She was speechless looking at the interiors of the hall area and the passage walk path. While, gazing around, her eyes went on the photo frames. She paused for a moment. “Who’s the one next to you in photo?” Reena asked Rahul in a teasing tone with a naughty smile.
“Namarata my wife, she did the entire interior and exterior works, an interior designer, does freelancing so if there is any call for work, she goes. ”
“Wow. That’s nice. So is she home?”
“No, she is Delhi at the moment for a clients renovation work. She would be back tomorrow afternoon. Hey! You better go and change. Wait I will call out for Ramu kaaka. “Mean while, Rahul called Ramu kaaka. “Kaaka yeh Reena madam hai. Inhone ghar tak drop kiya. Ek kaam karo; enko upar kamre mein lekar jaoo aur ek towel dedo. Saath mein Namarata ka cupboard bhi dhikado taki yeh apne kapdae badal sakae.” Rahul turned, looked at Reena. “Go with kaaka and get changed.”
“Thanks.” Saying this Reena walked upstairs with Ramu kaaka, entered the room. Kaaka opened the cupboard handed a towel to Reena, told her that she could change into the madam’s clothes. “Beti kuch chahiyae toh awaaz karna” He smiled and closed the door. In the hall, Rahul switched on the lights, lit the fire place and played his favorite all time hits song “rim jhim rim jhim” from the movie 1942 A Love story. Looking at the photo kept above the fire place, he smiled, and recalled the time when he first met Namarata. It was 1 year back, during the same July month, when he proposed her and got married exactly after a week, 14th July, 2011. It’s a surprise that he’s planned for her for this anniversary. Just then;
“Tring Tring.” Rahul answered the call.
“I have died everyday waiting for you,
Darling don’t be afraid I have loved you,
For a thousand years,
I'll love you for a thousand more.” Rahul was speechless.
“Hi honey crunch. How are you? ”

Continuation.. Part ended- Maggie and Pritam waved out and bid goodbye.

“She is such a nice person. I am truly thankful to her. Today you are with me on our very first date babes.” Pritam smiled hugged Maggie and said “I LOVE YOU.” Saying this Maggie replied the same. He then told Maggie to wait, opened the car door, went on the other side, opened Maggie’s door, bent on his knees and proposed her with this beautiful diamond ring placed in platinum. Showers suddenly poured. Pritam didn’t get up. “Will you marry me?”
“Pritam, come in you will get wet.”
“Darling, I don’t mind getting wet and sick throughout my life for you. Just want you by my side.”
“Pritam you are gone mad.” Saying this even Maggie got down from the car.
“Yes, I will marry you.” Maggie took a long time to yes to this relation as being a divorcee she was broken down with her first marriage. Reena was the only one there supporting, since she knew the story of Maggie’s past marriage. Pritam had no issues as he had genuine feelings for her and wanted to marry Maggie.
Later they both embraced each other, and kissed on the lips. They then drove off.
“I am on the top of the world” song by Carpenters, Reena was hearing and humming. She was driving slow as the clarity was very bad. Meanwhile, a guy wearing a black raincoat was trying to get a lift. Reena stopped her car to the side. She lowered the music volume and the car windows.
“Do you need a lift?”
“Yes. My house is just 10 minutes away. I can’t walk since it’s raining heavily.”
“Ok no problem. Get inside the car.” Reena unlocked the doors and let the guy inside. “Damn it just started raining like cats and dogs. O hi, I am Rahul.” He’s got such a cute smile. She was thinking to herself.
“Hi. I am Reena. So shall I drive off?”
“Sure.” Saying this; Reena drove slowly with her music volume playing low.
“Carpenters;  you know Reena, I won first place in a college singing competition for this song. It’s my all time favorite.” They both exchanged their hobbies, interests as they were driving through. The two seemed to have got along pretty well.

Continuation.. Part ended- I feel ese accha ladka tujhe doondhne se bhi nahi milega.

“You read my message.” As she was talking with Reena her eyes could not go away from Pritam. “Maggie, look at the way you are checking him out, go now natak mat kar.” Pulling her cheeks Reena embraced her. Pritam returned after disconnecting the call.
“Now, both of you go. Pritam just take her on this very first date and please make it a memorable one.”
“Reena of course but is Maggie ready!” Holding Pritam’s hand for the first time; “Let’s go. Thanks babes. Take care.” Reena bid both of them goodbye and headed to the basement parking where she parked her car.
As she sat in the car, a message beeped on her mobile
“YOUR EYES IS A MIRROR,
I SEE MY REFECTION IN THEM,
YOUR HEART IS A RIVER,
I SEE MYSELF DROWING IN YOUR LOVE,
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED, IN LIFE, WHEN I HAVE YOU, TIGHT IN MY ARMS?”
Karan knew how to melt his lady loves heart.
Then Reena replied back
“I HAVE LOST MY SLEEP,
LOOKING AT YOU,
MY MIND HAS STOPPED WORKING,
THINKING ABOUT YOU,
O’ DARLING,
EACH DAY PASSES BY WAITING FOR YOU.”
She then kept her mobile on the seat, started the engine and left the basement parking, while Maggie and Pritam waved out and bid goodbye.

Meanwhile,
“Good evening Maggie.” Pritam from SENSATIONS an event management company has his heart for her. Daily there would be calls and would mail cards to Maggie. Reena was aware of this cupid strike.
“Hey! Pritam how are you doing? How’s work?”
“All well Reena, why is Maggie blushing?”
“Blushing! Let me check. O yes! You are right, she is blushing.” Maggie goes on the 7th heaven whenever her eyes are on Pritam. He was this 6’ tall, medium built handsome hunk. All girls in the company eyed for him but he only has his love eyes for Maggie.  The lift halted and everyone entered. Pritam, Maggie and Reena were all together when suddenly Maggie’s mobile beeped with a SMS “I want to meet you. Let’s go for coffee, darling.” Reena just peeped into her mobile and pretended that she never saw the message and then just giggled to herself. As the lift halted on the ground floor, everyone got out. Reena, Maggie and Pritam were walking together. Suddenly, Pritam’s mobile rang and he went a bit away. Meanwhile “Maggie, go with him for coffee. Trust me he is so cute. I feel ese accha ladka tujhe doondhne se bhi nahi milega.”

Tick tock the clock struck 4:45pm. “Oh shit. Maggie I have to call mom and dad. Wait I will call them first. They were going to my aunt’s place.” Tring, tring, the phone was ringing at Singh’s residence. Mrs. Hetal answered the call “Mom you didn’t leave still!”
“Beta we are leaving now. dad is waiting in the car. Kya hua putar”
“Nothing will be leaving the office by 5:30pm today. Chalo enjoy and convey my regards to Neeta maasi, Nikhil chaacha, Rinku and Buntu.”
“Theek hai beta; mein raktee hoon abhi. Tumhare papa horn baja rahein hai aur upar se barish ho rahee hai. Bye.”
“Barish. Mom!” before she could say anything more Reena’s mom had already cut the call. As she proceeded towards the car, she closed the door behind, “Why so late? Kiska call tha?” As Mrs. Singh sat in the car; “Arey baba; it was Reena’s call. Today she will be leaving office early by 5:30. Abhi chalo”
“Kya baat hai bhaiee, aaj aap bahut khoobsoorat lag rahee hai”
“Aap bhi naa. Chaliyae gadi chaloo karo. We are late.” Mr. Surjeet Singh started the engine, and drove off.
“Reena everything fine; kya hua”
“Nothing, all is well.” She replied to Maggie smilingly.
5:15pm, before winding up for the day; Reena quickly browsed through her facebook wall and uploaded few fun pictures. On her status wall she added saying “My day couldn’t have been better. It was simply awesome. I have no words to describe. I am just missing the love of my life in this romantic atmosphere.” She tagged Karan and “You have made my life complete, with your love and care. Thanks for the surprise gift. It’s the best I could have ever got from you darling. Love you.” After posting it, she logged off her facebook and mail accounts.
Off goes the PC. Arranged the frame on her side table, picked her purse and ready to push off. Switched off the lights and closed her cabin.
“So what plans now?” Maggie asked Reena as she was walking towards the lift. “Kuch bhi nahi will go home and take rest.”

Continuation.. Part ended-“Thanks a lot. Take care, bye.”

“Bye, sir.” Both hung up the call and Reena got back working on the sample designs.
It was 4:00pm. Nandu chacha was preparing tea for the entire staff, at that moment Murli walked into the office, and kept all the snacks in the kitchen.
“Beta; tumee aata mein kai sangoo. Dekh plate mein sab daal, aur sabko de.”
“Kaie chacha, ata; mee kaie karnar? Mein toh, wohi karoonga chacha. Aap chinta maat karo” Yeh ladka kabhi nahi sudrega. Nandu chacha told within him. After he finished preparing tea for everyone, he told Murli to get the plates, tissues out and keep it on the table near to Rohini madam. All the plates were kept on the table, with all mouth watering snacks, like samosa’s, dhokla’s, aloo tikki’s, puffs and kaju katri sweet. Mr. Dowlani entered the office, called all the staff and told Reena to come forward.
“Today you have made our company very proud. Your hard work and patience has paid off Reena. This is a small gift from the company for your immense dedication towards your work. Wish you all the best.” Everyone cheered and clapped their hands. Tears of joy flowed down her eyes.
“I am speechless. Nothing of this could have happened without everyone’s support. Thank you all for having trusting in me.”
She then paused for a moment and “Thank you sir for believing in me.” Reena then touched Mr. Dowlani’s feet and took his blessings.
Meanwhile, Mr. Dowlani told the entire staff that by 5:30pm everyone could leave the office. All jumped with joy enjoying the hot cup of chai with the mouth watering snacks. As Mr. Dowlani was heading to his cabin, he voiced Nandu chaacha and requested him to get him a cup of his favorite green tea. As the staff were having good light moments, clicking snaps, teasing Reena, Nandu chaacha with a smile walked up to Mr. Dowlani’s cabin and served him tea with dhokla’s.
“Chaacha kya hua?”
“Saab; yeh apne accha kiya. Sab log itne kush hai, khas kar Reena bitiya”
Sipping hot cup of tea, he got up from his seat, and opened the blinds of the cabin window “Chaacha Reena mein kuch baat hai. Jahan jatee hai udhar kushiyan hee kushiyan hotee hai. Bahoot mehnatee ladki hai. Ek din mujse bhi aagae jaayegi.”
“Saab sahi bolae. Arey dhokla toh apne khaya nahin”
“Mein khaloonga chaacha, apne khaya?”
“Nahin ab tak nahin”
“Chaacha aap dus saal se yaahan kaam kar rahe hain. Aaj apki chooti. Jaoo aap bhi khushiyan manao. Chaliyae jaaeeae”
Chaacha didn’t know what to say. He just smiled and before leaving his cabin turned around “Saab dhanyawad. Aap insaan ke roop mein devtaa hai.”

Continuation.. Part ended- Forever Yours; Karan

Reading this message Reena had tears in her eyes. Just then; "Tring Tring" mobile rang and she answered it without seeing the number. Upon receiving, there was silence
 “DARLING NO MATTER THE DISTANCE,
I WILL ALWAYS BE IN YOUR HEART FOREVER
I WILL LOVE YOU TILL MY LAST BREATH,
I SHALL HOLD YOUR HAND AND CROSS WITH YOU OVER THE TERRIBLE STORMS,
MAKING SURE THAT AT EVERY STEP I AM BY YOURSIDE,
I LOVE YOU BABY.”
It was Karan’s call. They had been engaged for about 3 months now. Karan runs his own wedding planner business in Delhi. “I love you to baby.” Reena said with tears in her eyes. Her happiness knew no bounds.
“So how did you like the gift? And congrats on your long awaiting order” Reena then picked up the frame from the table, “It’s the best gift Karan. Thanks. It’s all because you kept boosting me all the time.” As they were having their little hearty conversation, just then Maggie intercom, and told Reena that Mr. Mehta was online and wanted to speak with her. Continuation of the story- Part ended- Theek hai saab. Sir how are you going then

“Murli I can drive. Go now.” Mr. Dowlani just nodded his head; laughed to himself as he left.
Murli entered the office as everyone was sitting for lunch and headed towards Nandu chacha; “Chacha saab ne paise rakhein hai. Jaldee dena mujhe bhi khaana khana hai.” Chacha then handed over the money to Murli and he left.

Meanwhile, Maggie and Reena were rejoicing. Just then it was time for lunch. “It’s already 1:30pm. Let’s have lunch.” Both left the cabin and headed towards the kitchen to pick up their lunch daba. As they came with the daba’s the entire office stood up congratulated and clapped hands.
“Girl your hard work has paid off. Keep it up.” Nisha approached with a smile and embraced Reena. Being her Assistant designer, she recalls the time when 6 months back they both had approached Mr. Jitesh Mehta to give their company the order. “Reena remember; 6 months back he said that the order wouldn’t be given to us, and now, it’s truly amazing.” Reena sighed for a second.
“Nisha that’s why they say when you have patience it pays off.” Nisha nodded her head, smiled and said yes.
“Darling you did it finally. You have made us all proud.” Ashley congratulated, embraced Reena. They both exchanged cheek to cheek kisses. Ashley was more of a gay types but a true well wisher. He was the first one who helped Reena get through the interview as he saw the potential in her.

Meanwhile,
Mr. Dowlani passed by.
“Is there any problem? Nisha why are you having such a shocked look and keep your mouth closed. A housefly might enter in.” All the employees had a light laugh at sir’s joke.

“Hmm… Well, coming back to the point. I have got news for you Reena. We’ve got the job of designing 1000 wedding cards for Mr. Jitesh Mehta’s son’s wedding. They want you to meet them up personally with some design samples.”
Reena’s happiness knew no bound. She was extremely thrilled as she was waiting for this call since 6 months.
“Sir, thank you. I will make sure; I do my best and will not let you down. I will go right away and start on preparing the samples.”
“Reena, you only have a weeks’ time. Put in your best efforts.”
“Will do my best”
“Beta and keep smiling. Go on now”
After leaving boss’s cabin, Reena straight away called her parents and gave them the good news. They were very happy and proud.
“Beta, your long wait has come to an end. Best of luck” Her parents told her and kept the phone.

THE MONSOON FLING
By Noshima

 Flings!!
Quiet interesting I must say. Well, of course there is a story which has all the ingredients for a fling to occur during the monsoons. Wait! Are you thinking if this story is based on me? O’ dear, it’s not about me.
Don’t get disappointed! Trust me you will like it. You just have to read along and feel yourself into the picture and imagine.
Well after all a fling can happen to anyone.

“Ding Dong” Mrs. Hetal Singh opens door.
“Mohan bhaiya kaise ho. Sab theek hai na?”
“Maaji sab badiya hai.”
“Bhaiya aaj do liter doodh dena.”
“Theek hai maaji. Aaj kuch khaas” As the milkman was pouring milk into the vessel Mrs. Singh told him that “There is a function today at my sister’s place and she requested me to make kheer and bring, as they like my hand made kheer.” Mohan the milkman poured the milk and handed over the vessel to Mrs. Singh. After closing the door behind, Mrs. Singh headed to the kitchen and was preparing for breakfast. Meanwhile, she told Shanta the maid, to wake Reena up as she would get late for work.
“Reena baby utho, saat baj gaye.” Reena was all cuddled under her blanket. She then moved the blanket out of her face and had a bright smile as she got up. She stretched herself out from bed.
“Good morning Shanta tai. Nashtae mein kya hai? What are the two love birds doing?” Shanta Tai laughed. “Ago bayee today’s girls I tell you no shame. How can you talk like that about your parents? Now go and freshen up quickly.” Meanwhile, Reena headed towards the window, and opened them. Seeing, the dark clouds crowding, she knew it was going to rain.
“Shanta tai today is going to rain heavily. There is something different today.”
“Oyee choree, now go and dress up. I have tidied your bed. Hurry up, pagali.” Shanta just giggled and left.
Closing the door behind, Reena headed to the washroom for a shower. While taking a shower she was humming her favorite tune “Aaj mein upar, assman neechae from the movie Khamoshi.” This is not the first time she has been so bubbly. But she did feel something different today.
All wrapped in towel, and water dripping from her hair she opened her cupboard; pulled her favorite yellow color kameez and chudidar. Roughly she dried her silky hair, put a black eye liner and finished it with a nude shade of lip gloss. She went down to the hall and greeted her parents.
“Good morning dad and mom.”
“Good morning dear. Beta you know this house will be empty when you get married.” Reena’s dad Mr. Surjeet Singh was a retired army office.
“Dad who said I am going anywhere. I will get married and stay here with my husband.”
“I am hungry. Maa nashtae mein kya hai. Mere peth mein chuyae daud rahein hai”
“Pagali, have some butter toast and I prepared your favorite mushroom cheese omelet. Don’t forget to drink your orange juice.”  As Mrs. Singh was serving her breakfast, Reena told “Mom you are the best.” The clock strike 8:00. Reena hurriedly ate her breakfast. While they were all eating, Reena’s dad told her “Beta, try to be back soon in the evening, as it would rain heavily. Your mom and I would be going to Neeta aunt’s house warming ceremony function.”
“I will be back soon. You both take care and dad, make sure you take your mobile without keeping it switched off. I will call you once I leave office. Chalo, I am going now. Bye. Love you both.” Saying this she quickly picked up her purse, headed towards her car, started and drove off.
While driving, she played “I am on the top of the world” from the album Carpenters. She was enjoying every bit of her moment. The cool breeze was blowing, rain drizzling. She put her hand out to feel the drizzle. She reached the office building parked her car at the basement and walked inside. As she waited for the lift, the watchman handed over a parcel to her. On the cover it was said “To Reena, with Love from Karan.” There was this sparkling smile over her face. She was blushing as she had not expected her fiancé Karan to send a parcel for her. The lift stopped on the ground floor, she entered in and pressed 3rd as her office “Designs & More” was situated on that floor.
Designs & More a graphic designing company and Reena was their senior designer. She started off as a trainee 3 years back and now got promoted as their senior designer. The lift halted on the 3rd floor, she walked into the office and was just smiling till, Maggie the company’s front office executive and Reena’s best friend noticed a different look on her face. She greeted Reena and asked her why her face was glowing.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY

AUTOBIOGRAPHY

"Knowing yourself is a mystery,
Penning down about your life is a quest,
Fighting every battle is a challenge,
The race doesn't end here,
As people around need to know
That you are a winner"

It’s difficult to have a beginning when one has to write about one’s own self. If you have to know about me here it goes. I like driving, swimming, making friends, dancing, watching movies listening to music, partying, travelling. Fun person with unlimited energy.

Curious to know more about me! Wait if you think I am going to reveal my name, you are under a wrong misconception. For that, I will have to take you back into time space where you will unleash the once shy girl who transformed completely as years passed by. So buckle up your seat belts, as its going to be a roller coaster ride unleashing the sweet yet naughty side of me.

YOU ARE VERY CLOSE..

AND

YOU HAVE FINALLY MADE IT BACK TO MY LIFE'S TIME SPACE.

Monday February 7th, 1983. The Rao family was waiting patiently for the arrival of their newest member to be born. Exactly at 9:05 am, IST a tiny tot was born, at Sita Laxmi Hospital in Sion, Mumbai. This tiny tot was none other me, NoshimaVijay Kumar Rao. I know my name seems to sound unique something like Japanese. My name also has a little suspense. You will come to know in the later lines as you keep reading.
The doctor who attended to my birth was none other than the entrepreneur of the hospital itself, Dr. Sita Laxmi. It seems he was rejected by her husband just because she was dark in color. How terrible? But wait, she didn’t give up. She managed to start this hospital with her families support and help. Makes me feel alive; thinking that I was one the lucky ones to be born in that hospital as she being my role model. It seems that she was the first one to be the happiest since I was born. She described me as, goddess of luck. She told my mother and my grandparents that she is a child full of luck. My mother Mrs. Pushpalata held me tight and kissed my forehead, so did my grandparents. All my relatives adored me a lot since I was white as milk. My nanny (mother’s mom) just didn’t get her eyes off me. She told my granny “she is very beautiful”. My family, especially my mother had tears of happiness.

I can imagine what her joy of happiness would have been. I wonder where my dad was. Hmmm…. I think hiding with joy. There caught him. No, that’s not my dad. My dad at that time was in Abu Dhabi as he couldn’t get leave from work. But guess what!! He had sent loads of toys after one week of my birth, when I was taken home. The room was filled with toys. We use to stay at Mira- Mansion, Block-4, 3rd floor D-10. It was on sharing basis with the owners Choudhary. When I was home, Mrs. Choudhary came and carried me and said “she is very pretty”. As days passed by relatives kept pouring in from all sides to have a glimpse of me. I was and till date a center of attraction. One of my grandfather’s friends, Mr. & Mrs. Subhas came in with sweets. They carried me and just couldn’t stop playing with me. I wish I was a baby again. Everyone playing, pampering you; I miss it.

Let’s continue before I start crying.... Some habits can never be got rid of. I also had a very cute funny habit. I use to pull my eyelashes which I do till date whenever I am sleepy. Now, enters the man of the house, my popsy. It was the happiest moment, when he saw me and carried me around. He just couldn’t control his joy. He had bought the best of toys that every kid would want. There was nothing else for me ever. I had the best of everything. While, he was there during that period, that’s when they decided to name me. So, he asked his friend Kumar, a astrologer for a unique name. Since it had to start with “No” he referred all his books and found this name “Noshima”. The meaning of my name is Urdu means “to make a request” and it also means “beautiful” in Japanese. Everyone liked the name and so now they wanted to keep a house name. So everyone decided as “Uma” – It’s named after Hindu goddess deity “Uma Parvati.” So both names were finalized. During that period, after my name was all decided, my dad was all set to take my mother to Abu Dhabi as; when he applied for my visa there was a mistake in my name. So, during that time I didn’t travel with my parents. I was left back with the care of my grandparents. And the 2 and a half year being with them, it seems they pampered me a lot. My dad sent across visa for my granny and me. My grandfather, at that point of time couldn’t travel as he had some work and moreover he had health issues. 22nd August, 1985 was our departure date. Flaunting, away my green ghagra choli (Indian traditional dress- like a skirt and blouse), as I bid goodbye to my grandfather. He was crying and hugging me tight. My granny and I walked into in the airport. Everyone was just admiring me at the airport. As we were waiting, for the boarding announcement, there was this lady who was sitting by our side and was also on the same flight. She started a conversation with my granny. As she was talking with her, she just couldn’t resist herself from pulling my cheeks. Now that’s why people like doing woogly woogly woosh especially when you have chubby cheeks. As our announcement was made for boarding, we walked towards the boarding gate. I was holding and swaying my granny’s hand in happiness but I was missing my daddu (I would call my grandpa daddu and avvu to granny) a lot. As we were boarding, there were these smart looking crew members of Air India escorting us to our seats. A travel time of 2 and a half hour and I was sitting like a good girl.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we kindly request you to fasten your seat belts as we are about to arrive in Abu Dhabi International Airport. Thank you.” This announcement was made. Once the flight was on ground, and when we departed from the aircraft, I started jumping around. My avvu was laughing. After clearing all the checks and when we were out, my dad came picked me up, and kissed me. My mommy was at that time expecting with my little brother in her womb. As we were on our home, I was just jumping. As soon as we reached home, which was on Hamdan Street where at present Alpha Data Company is standing, dad had called my grandfather.

Daddu- “puttamma (my pet name what my grandfather use to call) you are with daddy and mummy. Daddu misses you” I was crying as I was missing my grandfather. As days passed by, on 29th August, 1985, second bundle of joy was born in Central hospital. He was so cute and chubby none other than my little brother Rishi. Well I couldn’t have asked for anything. I was all happy and excited.

Home was all decorated. Dad’s friends had come home to see my little brother. At that point I did feel a bit left out. When everyone saw me, they just couldn’t stop about me. There was joy and happiness all around. After some days, I started schooling at Maryland Kindergarden. And it was at that first day of school when my granny left back for Mumbai. I recollect how I started crying when she was not anywhere to be seen. It’s so me. I would cry for anything and everything. As my brother started growing up, he also started schooling. We would be dropped and picked up together. In school, I use to always keep my food aside as I use to enjoy my friends tiffin. I had this annoying friend Byju. He would everyday call home and pass complain to my mom that I didn’t eat my food. He was such a pain.

Nevertheless, still he and my old mates from Sherwood Academy Simi, Purnima, Bharty, Vanessa, Shilpa, Lemya, Siju, Asha & Anju, Aditi, Anuja, Shikku, Awad, Jaisy, Nithin, Nisha Tharyani, Nisha Thomas, Rebecca and many more.

Well it was the very first time, that dad took us for a holiday to the beautiful places in Asia. Singapore, Malaysia, Pataya, Penang, Bangkok, Thailand. An unforgettable trip since, I remember that I wanted to buy a jeans skirt, and was not getting my size since I was fat at that time. Out of difficulty my dad managed to get my size in my shop. I looked like this big football.

I was the very quite shy time till my 7th Std in Sherwood Academy. My friend Anuja Shah, who now resides in Cananda, was my closet friend. She had written a letter to me which I kept safe till date. I still remember the day she told that they are leaving, we both cried. I wasn’t there that time. I felt terrible when she left. She was a joker. She always helped me in my studies. I was not all good in studies. She tried her best to get my shyness out. But, it just didn’t happen. I would hardly mix around with anybody. At that period my mom opened a saloon in my name NOSHIMA'S BEAUTY SALOON and I started taking interest in beauty and hair. I started showing keen interest in beauty and hair. I left my school and told my parents that I wanted to pursue a course in beauty and hair. They were thrilled that I as showing a keen interest. So my they decided to even send my little brother along with me and get him do his studies in Mumbai itself. Both of us being all excited, started packing off.  My dad was all excited. He bought me 20 pairs of clothes from, a brand new red color Samsonite suitecase since red is my favorite color. Purchased my favorite perfume Nina Ricca and my bag all ready to fly off. This was the first time ever that we were going to be on our own. No doubt we were going to stay with avvu. As we landed in Mumbai, I sensed a different feeling all together. It was called FREEDOM.

Mumbai I just love the city. There is some kind a magnet that draws everyone to the city. I was there for a year from 1997- mid 1998. My name was enrolled in one of the best beauty schools, SCHNELLS BEAUTY SALOON located at MAHIM next to the railway station. My brother schooled at Our Lady of Good Councel, Sion. Living in Mumbai, I made many friends. But had a very dear friend who till date is close to me. Kalpana Gada. Staying with her, she taught me a lot about life, not to forget how to be a tough person. I call her dee (meaning sister). We use to hang around a lot after our sessions. It’s from her that I developed a taste bud for Gujarathi food. Every day she would get something or the other for me in class. Being Indian, they were settled in Nairobi. She came from a very well to do family. But never had she showed it off. In today’s world it’s rare to find such a warm hearted person. We both have shared our lives inner most secrets. I recollect this one instance where she had come home to stay overnight and we headed off to this restaurant Hanuman opposite to Sion circle. Later it just started raining heavily. As we were trying to cross I just fell on the edge of the road thinking it was the footpath. Water was flooded and so I couldn’t make out. People passing by were all having a hearty laugh. Kalpana and I laughed our hearts out. We had got completely drenched. On reaching home, granny gave us both a towel and told  to change before we catch a cold. Rishi was laughing away.

The basic course was completed and we had an assessment. For the assessment day I was looking out for a model. So my cousin Sunita Nakhate, volunteered. I was all excited. That very evening Sunita stayed back and we had lot of fun. Bright sunny morning, the day has arrived. More than me Sunita was all jumping. She was lost in her own dreams of looking like a bride. Upon reaching, our time had started. I and Kalpana were helping each other out where ever we were going wrong. Sunita was all ready. After the exam was over we had a short break since we also had written exam. Once it was completed, Kalpana and Sunita stayed back at my place. The three of us were enjoying ourselves. We had ordered food from out and enjoying each and every second. After two days our results were out. I passed and went and hugged Kalpana. I called and informed my parents. They both were very happy. I was starting my advance course for Hair. It was getting more interesting. Meanwhile, my brother wanted to go back to Abu Dhabi as he was not enjoying Mumbai. By March, 1998 he left back. And I stayed back in order to finish my course. My parents supported me throughout. I successful completed the course and came back to Abu Dhabi and started my practice in our saloon.

I had no interest in joining school, but my parents told me to at least finish school. So, I listened to them and joined up privately, Eduscan (National Open School) located in Blue Marine building, 5th floor. It’s run by Mr. & Mrs. Kalra. It was then shifted to Electra Street, next to Lu Lu center. It was the heart of the city where even 2 cinema halls were close by. So whenever we would bunk we use to go for a movie. Our school building is the only pink color building in the entire vicinity. And we were on the 1st floor.

EDUSCAN GROUP
My life changed completely in my 10th and 12th. I became this happening girl full of energy, life and zest. My friends thought me about life. I use to enjoy every moment at school. A girl who hated school started enjoying going to school. Jihad, Jill, Nahid, Ifthikar, Nasar, Ricky, Bert, Johnson, Shazia, Renuka, Glen, Asan, Ibrahim, Nikhil, Tarun, Shams, Adnan, Prema, Habib, Salwin, Shakeeb, Rashid, Zaid, Afra, Humera, Susan, Bismark, Nigel, Mervin, Hisham, Sameer, Jeetu, Sharon, Shawn, Farah, Shoukat, Sinin, Anzil, Tariq and many more whose name I can’t remember now. I had the best time with all of them. I remember one silly incident. During the month on December, 1998 it was the first down pour of drops. All of us were jumping with excitement. So we all just left the school campus and headed straight to an udipi restaurant that was just across our building. As we went to catch a seat, to my surprise I saw my parents. They greeted me and my friends. It was the very first time that they were personally meeting my friends. So I had introduced each and every one of them. My parents were happy meeting all of them.  As we sat and ordered our snacks, my dad called for the waiter and told him the our bill he would pay. Meanwhile, our principal came in and fired all of us. As he saw my parents, he walked towards them and greeted them. I bid goodbye to my parents and left. As we all reached back, we were called to the principal’s office. I was pulled forward and asked a reason for this behavior. I was cool as a cucumber. I replied back saying that since it was the first down pour of drops that’s why we behaved like this. All were giggling. He warned us not to repeat it again. I miss those days. I wish I could go back in time. I use be a bomb. Every day I would create some havoc or the other. Our administration in charge Mr. Birendar once asked me during our break period as to what is the meaning of my name. And I had replied with the answer. He then said that’s the wrong meaning whereas; the real meaning of my Noshima is having no boundaries (No- see-ma). I told him that he was a genius. As I was heading back to class he told me that he would keep a new name for me. When I asked him the name he said TOOFAN MAIL since I come and go at lightning speed. He was a fuuny chap who now is married to my friend who worked in our saloon Sunita. I don’t remember one day where I ever found school boring. We were the best batch. Always were there for each other. Another incident during my 12th that took place. My classmate Shoukat Ali on diwali day made an announcement in class. The announcement was, "Attention everyone. There is a diwali  party at none other than our beloved Noshima's house tomorrow. So everyone be there at sharp 6:30 pm." There was silence suddenly in the entire classroom. Everyone were starring at me. I was like guys I never told Shoukat anything about any party. All my friends were amazed and my best friend Jill had an astonished look. i had no other choice but to keep the party. At the end we all enjoyed it.

BUDDY BOY

TEDDY BUNS(BROWN) AND SNOOPY(WHITE)

SIMBA

I was known for my dogs which my dad had gifted Rishi and me on Christmas. Simba (German sherperd) Buddy (Chinese Pekineese). He had also bought love birds and budgies. My house was called a zoo. All my friends would go mad. After 2 years, my dad gifted 2 more dogs Snoopy and teddy (both Chinese Pekineese). After school, my dogs would accompany my parents to pick me up. My brother was studying at Int’ School of Choiefaet. My dad never liked me being quiet. He would know that I am around with the kind of tantrums I would create. Once, my friend in school Afra called me a name. I felt hurt and the full day after I reached home was quiet. My dad couldn’t bare the silence that was engulfed. So in the evening he came to me and asked me what the issue was. I didn’t tell him at first then he made me sit and told me to speak. I then told him that Afra called me a bitch. He then hugged me and told me not to take small matters to heart and told me to always be smiling and laughing as he liked when I would make noise around. This is just not it. Whenever there were any occasions, my feet would pull me towards the dance floor. Tamara and I were proudly called the dancing queens. We both would rock during dhandiya specially. Masti, fun was my life. I miss it totally.

Long drives, racing cars, camping with all our family friends use to be fun. Hanging out in the malls and wasting money eating like pigs. Trust me, I was ridiculous. I remember during my Software Engineering at Aptech, when we had projects, Sowmya’s house was the hangout spot. I still remember this incident, we had ordered pizza. After hogging, Shehzad bhai and I challenged each other for a farting competition. Our friends Sowmya and Priya just ran away. Our main aim was to enjoy and only enjoy. During that period I also enrolled for a diploma course in graphic designing at Digital Academy and also for Secretarial Course with Nadia’s institute. I hated sitting idle so I always had the urge of learning something new. After my classes would head straight home, and pack my sports bag and head towards Marina Club for my long tennis and swimming lessons. I enjoyed playing long tennis, table tennis, squash and to wind it up swimming. I remember there was a swimming competition that was held for kids and both my brother and I participated in it. It was more of fun to us rather than a competition. The day was Friday. It was just great!! My dad then took a membership at Rotana Beach Hotel. Every day without fail I would wind my day up with a good round of swim.

As I finished my courses, I took up my very first job as a graphic designer with Traditions. I worked as a trainee. I enjoyed working. Kranti being the sales Executive would brighten our day with his jokes and poems. Miss it a lot. I made my very first birthday card for my dad with a surprise party for him. It wouldn’t have been possible without Salim unlce, Nancy aunty, Vasanti aunty, Unni uncle, Tamara, Aditya, Ashwin. I never saw him smile like that before. He was totally thrilled.

As days passed by, my parents wanted a break and so shifted to India. Ever since my dad retired from work, he always wanted to settle down in Goa. So our family friend Salim uncle (my favorite all time) helped him out. So now it’s been 9 years that we have settled in Goa. After settling down here, I helped my parents in their work since dad had started a small shop of electrical and tiles. In 2005, I joined in for Frankfinn located on 18th June Road, Rani Pramila Arcade and had many lovely memories since we were the first batch. Ranzia, Kimberly, Tallulah, Jubelle. We were one hell of a girl gang. Upon the release of Jennifer Lopes “Monster-in- Law” we all decided to go the movie after class. When we reached Inox and collected our tickets it was almost time up for the movie to begin. So we grabbed our eatables. My tray was the only one that was completely filled. I couldn’t even hold the coke. So as we were leaving the counter my popcorn fell off. Everyone was like Nosh you are careless and were laughing. Then person at the counter then gave popcorn and didn’t charge me anything. Ranzia told me that you are such a hog. I use to eat a lot but at the same time do workout and swimming. Amazing to see how I have grown up and seen the different changes in myself.

After my 1 year completion at Frankfinn, I got through Qatar Airways as Cabin Crew. Excitement was unlimited. It was a total different experience. It was a job which made me a stronger person since, in this field I was dealing with all kind of people. An instance which happened on a flight to Rome; Sri Lankan passenger; was going on asking me if I was Sri Lankan. I finally lost my temper and told him no. That poor chap just kept his mouth shut throughout the flight. I enjoyed my work and till date cherish those moments.

Later I opted upon coming back to Goa where; I worked for a travel company, and then in Mumbai for a Hotel in Navi Mumbai, Hotel Yogi Midtown.

Finally back in Goa. While in Mumbai, I started writing since I myself never knew
that
THE BOYS GANG....
I was creative enough. It was my dear friend Richard who found writer quality in me and motivated to start writing. That’s how it all began. It took me a lot of time to write. But as they say honest hard work pays off. And that’s exactly what’s happened. Apart from writing, I am working as a front desk executive with Unicorn Developers, Goa. This is my second home since all my colleagues Rima, Pooja, Ganesh, Dhanajay, Uday, Manoj, Anant and Shiv are all dear to me. I like rattling their heads a lot. It’s nice when you know that people around care  for you. There are these light moments that we share in the office. The best was our office picnic at Hira Farms. It was awesome. I had somewhere down got lost in between but this picnic just got me back.

Now being 29 years of age, I have seen the best the worst side of life. It’s taught me to love, laugh, smile, be humble, and being tough. At every stage there were U- turns. Funny though, at times when I sit back on my couch and think of my life, it makes me feel as if I still have to achieve a lot in life. That this is not the end. And why should I give up.

Till date I carry that spark around to brighten anyone’s day as my friends tell me.

I thank God, my family and few friends Franky, Nambrada, Dhanraj, Siddhesh Sane, Vijay, Savita, Jimmy, Balram Wasan, Jagruti Thakkar, Amit Thakkar, Amit Sethi, Parteek, Kamaljeet, Amandeep, Ajay Bahri, Merlyn, Taher Ali, Ranjeet Rajput, Kalpana didi, Aditi, Johnson,Tracey, Vatsala, Vaishnavi, Harish, Richard, Wasim, Pritam bhai, Sarvesh, Chris bhaiya, Rima, Pooja, Shivu, Manoj, Anant, Ganesh, Prakash, Vrinda, Kiran, Ritu, Uday, Dhananjay, Budaji for their immense support.
